User Guide — Content Calendar Planning Hub

Overview

This is a track-only content planning tool. Use it to capture ideas, schedule them on a calendar, and mark them published after you post manually on LinkedIn, Instagram, or other channels.

Getting Started

  1. Start the app (see run-deploy-instructions.md)
  2. Enter your name in Team member (top right)
  3. Use the three main views: Monthly Calendar, Idea Backlog, Reports

Monthly Calendar

The default view is a full-month editorial calendar:

  • Navigate months with ← → or jump to Today
  • Summary chips show scheduled, published, ideas added, and total on calendar
  • Scheduled and published items appear on their publish dates

Capture an Idea

  1. Go to Idea Backlog
  2. Enter a Title
  3. Add at least one tag: Channel, Campaign, or Content type
  4. Click Save to Backlog

Your idea appears in the backlog with status idea.

Schedule a Post

  1. In the backlog, find an idea
  2. Click Schedule
  3. Choose a Publish date (time is optional)
  4. Click Schedule

Status becomes scheduled. The item appears on the editorial calendar.

Mark as Published

After you manually post on your social channel:

  1. Find the scheduled item in the backlog or This Week view
  2. Click Mark Published

Status becomes published.

Editorial Calendar

  • Full month grid is the primary planning view
  • Use ← → to move between months
  • Click Today to return to the current month
  • Scheduled and published items appear on their publish dates

Reports

Generate a monthly summary of calendar activity:

  1. Open Reports
  2. Select a Report month
  3. Click Generate Report
  4. Download as JSON or CSV, or Print Report

Reports include content on the calendar, ideas added that month, and breakdown by channel.

Filter by Status

In the backlog, use the Status dropdown to show All, Idea, Scheduled, or Published items.

Team Usage

All team members share one calendar. Enter your name so the team knows who created items. Everyone sees the same backlog and calendar.

What This Tool Does Not Do

  • Does not connect to social media accounts
  • Does not auto-publish posts
  • Does not require approval workflows

Publish manually on your channels, then mark items published here.
