US SLED Contact Directory (Education layer)

First release. A public-record contact directory of every US public school district / local education agency, grouped by state.

Included

  • 19,453 organizations across all 50 states + DC (one HTTP 200 source

request per jurisdiction).

  • Real fields per record: organization name, type, phone (100% coverage),

street/city/ZIP/county, enrollment, school count, NCES leaid.

  • Full provenance: source URL, HTTP status, sha256, and timestamp per jurisdiction;

whole-dataset sha256; retained raw responses for two sample states.

  • Outputs: whole-file CSV + JSON, per-state files, a self-contained browsable site.
  • Verification: 17/17 deterministic checks, including a no-fabrication assertion.

Deliberately deferred (disclosed seams)

  • contactName, contactTitle, email, domain — not published by the source;

left empty, never invented.

  • State / local government and higher-ed layers of SLED (planned v2 via IPEDS,

Census Census-of-Governments, SAM.gov).
